On March 26-28, Ambassador Chen Bo visited the Una-Sana Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. On that occasion, she had separate meetings with Prime Minister of the Canton Husein Rošić and Mayor of Bihać, the seat of that Canton, Šuhret Fazlić, and addressed the Conference “Belt and Road Initiative, Prospects and Opportunities for BiH”, organized by the Center for Promotion and Development of the “Belt and Road”.

       During meetings with Rošić and Fazlić, Chen Bo said that cooperation in all areas between China and BiH has developed rapidly on the basis of the “Belt and Road” initiative and the “16+1” cooperation. This year is marked as a year of local cooperation. She voiced hope that the Una-Sana Canton and the City of Bihać will use their advantages and specificity, to establish cooperation with the Chinese side in the field of economy, trade, tourism, energy, agriculture, forestry and metal processing and actively participate in all activities in the framework of the “16+1” cooperation.

       Rošić and Fazlić expressed welcome to Chen Bo, presented to her the Una-Sana Canton and Bihać city, their specific sectors and production plans. They showed readiness to explore potentials for cooperation with China and expressed welcome to Chinese investors and tourists.

       At the Conference “Belt and Road Initiative, Prospects and Opportunities for BiH”, Chen Bo presented the development of international cooperation “Belt and Road” and economic society of China in general. She highlighted that the Embassy of the PR China in BiH is ready to play the role of a bridge for cooperation between China and BiH and to enhance cooperation of the Una-Sana Canton with China. Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry of the Federation of BiH Šemsudin Dedić and representatives of the Una-Sana Canton Government, the Chamber of Commerce, local development agencies and local companies attended the Conference. They expressed views on ways of strengthening BiH’s cooperation with China and more active participation in the “Belt and Road” initiative. They agreed that the “Belt and Road” initiative is an important opportunity for BiH. It was noted that new points of growth should be developed, both in relations between China and BiH, and the latter’s own development.

       Chen Bo visited the National park “Una” and “Meggle” dairy. On the occasion, she exchanged views with representatives of the BiH side on realizing cooperation in the field of tourism and food processing.
