Born in January 1967 in Shanghai.

He graduated from Peking University and joined foreign service in the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) in 1990. He served successively as Deputy Division Director, Division Director, Assistant Director-General, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau for South and Southeast Asia Affairs of IDCPC. He worked as Assistant Mayor in Weifang City, Shandong Province from 2006 to 2007. He served in the Chinese Embassy in India from 2000 to 2002 as Second Secretary and from 2009 to 2011 as Political Counsellor respectively. From 2012 to 2016, he worked as Deputy Secretary-General in China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD). From 2016 to 2018, he served as Acting Director-General, then Director-General of Protocol Bureau of IDCPC. He began his mandate as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Bosnia and Herzegovina in January 2019.
