On May 29, Ambassador Chen Bo met with Mayor of East Sarajevo Nenad Vuković. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between the city of East Sarajevo and China.

       Chen Bo noted that the city of East Sarajevo is rich in potentials, especially for tourism and winter sports. She expressed readiness of the Chinese side to help the East Sarajevo city promote its potentials in China and attract Chinese tourists and investors, using the favorable conditions of the Agreement on Visa Exemption for Holders of Ordinary Passport between China and BiH. The Department for Chinese language is a highlight in cultural communication of the two countries. In addition, Chinese language was introduced in elementary and high schools in East Sarajevo. The Chinese side will continue to provide support for Chinese language learning in East Sarajevo, so that this city retains the leading position in cultural communication of the two countries.

       Vuković said the East Sarajevo city attaches great importance to cooperation with China. It is ready to attract more Chinese tourists and beef up cooperation with the Chinese side in areas such as tourism, winter sports, trade and investment, using the opportunities provided by the entry into force of the agreement on visa exemption, as well as its own advantages.

       The two sides exchanged views on participation of East Sarajevo city in cooperation of China and countries of Central and East Europe.
