2018/05/30

On 29 May, Ambassador Chen Bo met with Croat Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dragan Čović.

The two sides agreed that the entry into force of the visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders between the two countries on 29 May would greatly drive business and tourism cooperation and take China-BiH relations to a new level. Čović said that BiH-China relations enjoy a sound momentum, with deepening cooperation in a wide range of areas and closer people-to-people links. Major energy and transport projects undertaken by Chinese businesses in BiH will help the country grow its economy and offer its people better opportunities. More Chinese businesses, including medium- and small-sized ones are welcome to invest and operate in BiH.

Chen Bo pointed out that thanks to the attention and guidance of top leadership of the two countries, China-BiH relations have come a long way. Chen expressed appreciation for the importance Čović attaches to the bilateral relations and the efforts he has put into promoting bilateral cooperation in all areas. Chen stressed that the Chinese Embassy in BiH will continue to serve as a bridge, in the interest of expanding practical cooperation between the two sides.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on Chinese language promotion in BiH, among other issues.
