On April 14, 2026, the highly anticipated Mostar International Economic Fair opened grandly in the city of Mostar. As one of the largest and most influential comprehensive international exhibitions in the region, this year’s fair attracted government representatives, business leaders, and industry experts from a number of regional countries.

Ambassador Li Fan led a delegation of representatives from several major Chinese enterprises operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina to attend the opening ceremony. Following the ceremony, Li invited Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Borjana Krišto, Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples Dragan Čović, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Marinko Čavara, as well as several ministers, to visit the exhibition booths of Chinese companies such as Huawei. Ambassador Li introduced the guests to the operations of Chinese enterprises in BiH and their contributions to regional economic development. Counselor Gai Guoqian also attended the event.

Ambassador Li noted that the Mostar Economic Fair is not only a platform to showcase the strength of Chinese enterprises, but also an important opportunity to enhance mutual understanding between China and BiH, as well as other Western Balkan countries, and to expand avenues for cooperation. China stands ready to take this event as an opportunity to continue upholding the principles of extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation in alignment with the development strategies of BiH and other regional countries, and advance China–Central and Eastern Europe cooperation to deliver more tangible outcomes, thereby contributing to regional economic integration and sustainable development.

A number of Chinese enterprises operating in BiH presented their advanced technologies and successful projects in areas such as information and communications, green energy, infrastructure, and agricultural machinery through physical models, video demonstrations, and interactive experiences. The exhibits attracted strong interest from guests of various countries, who stopped to observe and engaged in lively discussions.
